Subtractive Platforming
Utilize a simple two-button control scheme to Jump and Dive in order to navigate platforming obstacles and puzzles. Use platforming elements such as moving platforms, jump pads, and spinning disks to find new and creative ways to navigate the world. Each level features new obstacles to hinder you and mechanics to challenge you. Find shortcuts using tricks such as B Hopping and momentum to master the environment as you progress.

Crow Story was initially created in 6 days for Blackthornprod Jam 3. I attempted to emulate minimalist games such as Limbo and Journey for this game jam's theme "Less is More". There's also a much more literal interpretation of the theme in the game as well, where the levels break apart and become harder. The platforming elements were inspired by games such as Super Mario Galaxy and Celeste.
Crow Story ended up winning #57 Overall, and releasing on Steam with an updated bossfight at the end of 2021 with some help. It's garnered over 300 positive reviews and is ran every year as part of speedrunning competitions for charity!
